A Digital Multicast-Fueled LPTV Fires Up Charleston
Digital Networks LLC has fired up a new broadcast television station, serving the picturesque city of Charleston, S.C.
It’s the latest growth initiative from the company formerly known as Luken Communications, and doing business as Get After It Media.
Now serving the low country of South Carolina is WLOW-LD 19, which has placed five of its digital multicast networks on the facility.
This brings The Heartland Network, Retro TV, Rev’n, The Action Channel, and The Family Channel to the market.
“As cord cutting becomes more prevalent, it has been a goal of ours to grow our offerings across the United States,” said Joel Wertman, the company’s President. “Adding Charleston, South Carolina, to our footprint is a great way to kick off 2023.”
Wertman adds that Get After It Media hopes to add 11 more cities throughout the year, with Denver and Oklahoma City next for station launches.
Much like The Nashville Network (TNN) in its early years, The Heartland Network positions itself as a network focused on Country music. Retro TV, one of the first digital broadcast networks in the United States, showcases the classic television series. Rev’n is dedicated to all things revving including cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, ATVs, snowmobiles, events, and auctions.
The South Carolina launch follows the late November 2022 launch of KVGA-LD in Las Vegas.
